The year 2023 is forecast to be filled with challenges. The global transition into the post-pandemic era serves as a significant source of these challenges. Yet, in a beacon of hope, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) has reported that Indonesia’s economic growth in the first quarter of 2023 soared to 5.03%. This is a remarkable feat, significantly surpassing expert predictions and outperforming the growth rates of many developed countries, which average around 4.5%. This achievement undeniably sets a positive tone, urging us to approach the year with optimism.

In tandem with the nation’s economic ascent, the life insurance industry showcases impressive growth, particularly in its burgeoning policyholder numbers. As of March 2023, the life insurance sector provides coverage for 87.54 million individual and group policyholders. Yet, a puzzle emerges: the spike in policyholders hasn’t mirrored a proportional growth in premium revenue. This discrepancy underscores the need for holistic transformations across product offerings, service quality, and the calibre of our human resources.

It's evident that navigating such a profound transformation is no solitary journey. Collaborative guidance and robust support from myriad stakeholders are pivotal. This collective vision ensures a fortified, transparent, and resilient insurance sector, aptly equipped to tackle imminent challenges. In line with this ethos, the Life Insurance Association of Indonesia (AAJI) remains steadfast in bolstering the insurance realm through diverse initiatives and global partnerships. One such flagship endeavor is the international seminar on Digital & Risk Management in Insurance (DRiM) – an enlightening forum that resonates with pivotal discussions on pressing global concerns in the insurance sector, notably within the digital technology and risk management domains.

Thus, we earnestly invite every stakeholder within the insurance fraternity to engage proactively in this seminal event. Let's be the collective catalyst, shaping a resilient and quality-centric insurance industry that burgeons and earns the trust of the Indonesian populace.

Join us to exchange insights and forge meaningful connections at the DRiM 2023 event.

Greetings from the Chairman of DRiM 2023

Hani Kusumowardhani

In the wake of the pandemic, the world is not merely adapting but evolving at a pace like never before. The shifts we've experienced have ignited unprecedented research, charting a path forward in every sphere of life. This transformation is not just powered by human innovation but bolstered by groundbreaking digital technologies, foreseen to redefine many roles that were once quintessentially human.

The insurance industry stands at this nexus of change, with digital evolution being inseparable from its future trajectory. International insurers are not just adapting but leading with digital solutions. One standout innovation is the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI), transforming and optimizing various business processes within the sector.

But as with all progress, there are inherent risks. In an industry built upon the bedrock of trust and risk mitigation, it's imperative that we preemptively address the challenges that come with these digital innovations.

Enter the “Digital & Risk Management in Insurance (DRiM)” seminar, orchestrated by the Life Insurance Association of Indonesia (AAJI). This isn't just another seminar; it's a call to action for all industry stakeholders. Let's converge, learn, and strategize on how cutting-edge digital solutions are shaping diverse industries and how we can navigate the associated risks.

Why is the DRiM seminar pivotal? It is the beacon for elevating the quality of human capital within the insurance domain. Every participant is entitled to points from esteemed institutions: the Advance Program Risk Management by AAMAI, LSP MKS, and LSPMR. A golden opportunity to align with the standards set by our Regulator.

With the DRiM seminar, we're not just offering knowledge; we're extending an invitation. Let us all be the catalysts for a transformative journey, crafting an insurance industry that is not only robust and of the highest quality but also cherished by the Indonesian populace. Embrace the future. Join us. Dive into "Technology Beyond Imagination."
