The economic and social disruption caused by the pandemic provides an opportunity for insurance industry players to participate in the transformation to maintain their existence.
In line with efforts to recover the national economy, the insurance industry needs to transform in various aspects, especially product development, implementation of the latest technology, and improving the quality of human resources. All these adjustments are made to provide maximum service to the community.
The insurance industry cannot run alone to carry out the transformation. It needs references and support from various parties to build an insurance business that is more robust, open, and stable to face multiple challenges ahead. Therefore, the Indonesian Life Insurance Association (AAJI) continues to support and encourage the insurance industry through various activities and collaborations involving numerous national and international parties. AAJI has consistently held an international seminar on Digital & Risk Management in Insurance (DRiM) as a forum for international discussions to discuss global issues related to the insurance industry.
As we all know, Indonesia is the host of the implementation of the G20 Presidency. It is a wonderful opportunity for AAJI, a member of the Global Federation on Insurance Association (GFIA), to host the Insurance Forum 2022, where the DRiM seminar will be a part of it and is part of the G20 Presidential activities.
Therefore, we invite all insurance industry players to participate in this activity. The most important thing is to be part of creating a high-quality, healthy, and growing insurance industry that the people of Indonesia love.
Let's participate to be part of the Insurance Forum 2022!
As the pandemic hit in early 2020, the world was unprepared and forced to rapidly adapt. As we now move forward on the road of post pandemic recovery, we face new realities of healthcare costs, economic changes, inflation, geo-political shifts as well as existing agendas on the environment and financial inclusion. The insurance industry has an important role to play in addressing these issues both at a local and a global level.
AAJI is now a member of the Global Federation of Insurance Associations (GFIA). Since 2018, GFIA has initiated an annual international forum organized by the local insurance association which has been held during G20 presidencies, inviting international speakers from around the world to discuss the priority issues of G20 relating to insurance. AAJI also has successfully organized the annual Digital & Risk Management in Insurance (DRiM) Seminar since 2018, attended by various stakeholders including the Board of Directors, the Board of Commissioners, Management and Leaders from the insurance companies. Therefore, as Indonesia hosting the G20 presidency this year, AAJI has the honour to host the International Insurance Forum 2022, in conjunction with DRiM Seminar 2022.
The theme for the Insurance Forum 2022 is "Supporting a Strong, Inclusive and Sustainable Recovery", is aligned with the theme of the Indonesian G20 Presidency "Recover Together, Recover Stronger." This event will be a great forum for discussing and sharing knowledge with the experts from the regulators, government bodies, academia as well as insurance practitioners about various developments in the financial industry, potential opportunity and the challenges faced in the future.
The discussions in the Insurance Forum 2022 will be essential to support the human resources quality improvement to take a role in transforming the insurance industry. Therefore, every participant who attends the International Insurance Forum and DRiM activities in 2022 will receive 50 Advance Risk Management Program Points from the Association of Indonesian Insurance Management Experts (AAMAI) and 28 PSB Points from LSP MKS. We hope that the insurance industry players can take advantage of this seminar to meet the requirements from the regulator.
The support of all insurance industry players for the International Insurance Forum and DRiM 2022 is an important step in supporting a healthy and high-quality insurance industry, to keep growing and loved by the people of Indonesia.
COVID-19 has resulted in a humanitarian crisis on a scale that the world was underprepared for. Society has responded collectively, with businesses, charities, communities and governments working together to tackle the health crisis, provide financial support to workers and companies, and bolster economies. The global insurance industry takes its part by paying claims, donating funds to support businesses and society in general, and by offering flexible terms and conditions to help its customers in the immediate aftermath of the pandemic.
Now, as economies begin to return to normality, businesses need the support from relevant stakeholders in supporting a strong, inclusive and sustainable recovery, so they can operate post lockdown with confidence.
As Indonesia hosting the G20 Presidency in 2022, Indonesia Life Insurance Association (AAJI) is honored to have the responsibility to chair the Annual International Insurance Forum in cooperation with the Global Federation of Insurance Association (GFIA). This event intended to discuss a pragmatic and hands-on approach to the global perspective in the insurance sector. With that in mind, the International Insurance Forum will discuss several topics to convey the industry’s messages to a higher policy-maker level, from sustainable investment, strengthening the global health system, financial literacy, digitalization to trends that will shape the future of the Insurance industry.
We are driven by the belief that insurance is a pillar of social and economic resilience. The outcome of the International Insurance Forum in conjunction with the Digital Risk Management in Insurance (DRiM) seminar will be of fundamental value to the G20 agenda. As the theme of the G20 Presidency, “Recover Together, Recover Stronger”, we believe the Insurance industry has much to contribute, not only in its creative capacity for developing innovative solutions for people and countries but also as a catalyst of financial resources for enterprises all across the economic sectors. This is an opportunity for leading industry experts to connect, exchange ideas, and formulate strategic responses to changes in the insurance industry.
